Nuñez Says ‘The Proposal’ Should Make Nice Christmas Gift
Comedy that earned $164 million this summer now on DVD

Last month, Óscar Nuñez won an Alma Award for his laid-back role as Óscar Martínez on the NBC comedy, “The Office.”

of your family had seen “The Proposal” yet. So, tell me what was the consensus on your revealing role in the movie?

They loved it. Other people were like, “Oh my God! That was crazy!” But they were used to that. They were like, “He used to do that for free at home.” So, they weren’t too surprised by the character I played, but they were very happy for me. I also got phone calls from everyone in New Jersey about the movie, so that was fun.

For those people who will see “The Proposal” for the first time on DVD, how do you prepare them for what they will see during your big scene?

People will have a good time. The movie will take you by surprise. It was a very fun role to do. It’s great that we have Ryan [Reynolds] and Sandra [Bullock] as the leads in this movie. It’s not only sweet, but also very funny.

Quite a few of your fellow castmates from “The Office” also starred in feature films this year like B.J. Novak in “Inglourious Basterds,” John Krasinski in “Away We Go” and Ed Helms in “The Goods.” Do you try to support them all in the different projects they do?

Yeah, it’s the best. John [Krasinski] just came out with another movie called “Brief Interviews with Hideous Men” here in Los Angeles. It’s his directorial debut. I’m going to go and take a look at that. He’s very excited about it. It’s gotten great reviews.

When do you find time to audition for movie roles if “The Office” takes up most of your time?

You try to squeeze it in during the work schedule just like anything else. Hopefully, you can schedule a few things in between everything. It’s ...
