Doctorate in educational leadership

El Valor and National-Louis University have partnered to bring a doctorate in educational leadership cohort to the Little Village community.



This is part of El Valor’s Leadership through Education Program, which has one of its goals to increase the number of qualified, culturally and linguistically skilled personnel in positions of leadership, especially individuals who can identify with the Latino community and other underserved communities.



The cohort begins in April 2010 and lasts three years. Classes are held once a week in the evening at El Valor’s Carlos Cantú Children and Family Center in Little Village. The dissertation is embedded in the curriculum and the program prepares students for the Illinois Superintendence Exam. Individuals accepted into this program through National-Louis University’s application process will be eligible for the NLU/El Valor Next Generation Leadership Development scholarship equal to 15 percent of the tuition.
