Terry O’Brien also spoke candidly when he said, “We have to keep Chicago’s assets [and] not sell them to the highest bidder; but get our house in order.”
A lot of things have been written about Chicago Ward Committeeman, Joe Berrios, mainly on why he shouldn’t be assessor. His challenger, retired Cook County Judge Ray Figueroa, is passionate about unseating Berrios and “continuing the good work of [Cook County Assessor Jim] Houlihan.”
Lastly, I spoke to the incumbent for 8th District Cook County Commissioner, Joseph Mario Moreno. He exudes a confidence in winning that can’t be taken away from him. However, his challenger Jesús “Chuy” García, a former alderman and State Senator, has built up a grassroots organization to win this campaign. He still has the old magic to instill high hopes for clean politics.
