Vote Smart on Election Day
Tips for first time voters and how to find your polling place

For some people, especially first-time voters, casting a ballot can appear to be a confusing or frightening task. But EXTRA has compiled a list of the most common questions voters ask and provided you with answers through the help of the Board of Election Commissioners for the City of Chicago.

Will there be a interpreter onsite for Spanish speaking residents?

All election judges hired are required to speak English. In the case of bilingual communities, the Board of Election Commissioners for the City of Chicago assign bilingual judges at the polling locations. If none are available, call (312) 269-7870 and they will provide you with assistance.
