Party Affiliation - Democrat

Martial Status - Married

Religion - Roman Catholic

Education - Xavier University in New Orleans

Political Experience - Cook County Board President since 2006

Endorsements - Commissioner Joseph Mario Moreno, Cook County Democratic Party Chairman Joseph Berrios and Senator Iris Martínez

What would you do different if re-elected?

We started so many things late last year. In the three years of my administration, most of my time has been spent saving taxpayers money. Now, we have the money and the ability to do the things I planned from the beginning. Get rid of some duplication of services to save money. Of course, working with the board, health and county to maintain healthcare services at the present level. Working with the new healthcare board. Better accountability to the public.



There have been charges leveled against your administration for duplication of services such as the Board of Elections and the Forest Preserve District. Why do you need two different administrations?

There have been a lot of people who feel this is the way it should be. The state looks at the picture and tells us what to do. This has to be done down state. We do have someone looking at consolidation. It has to do more with a public outcry and we need allies that don't ...
