Welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre looks to continue his supremacy and three-year winning streak when he faces Dan Hardy this weekend.
“I’m more well-rounded, I have more knowledge and I believe by being a martial artist, I’m going to win that fight,” St. Pierre said.
St. Pierre has fought against Jon Fitch, B.J. Penn and Thiago Alves, who are all regarded as the top pound-for-pound fighters in the UFC.
“A lot of people underestimate Dan Hardy and it’s a big mistake. Hardy is the most dangerous guy that I’ve fought so far. He is well rounded and a smart fighter,” St. Pierre said.
Hardy is the number one welterweight contender after defeating Mike Swick and is a clear underdog coming into this match.
“I’m stepping into this fight a bigger underdog than I have been before, which is going to make me perform better,” Hardy said.
St. Pierre is a heavy favorite and feeds off that pressure to go for the win.
“I have a lot more pressure than Hardy,” St. Pierre said. “That’s a good thing because if you look at all my big fights, I had a lot of pressure. I perform better when I’m under pressure.”
