Use Your Smartphone to Make Mom’s Big Day Special

Mother’s Day is just around the corner. Still searching for the perfect gift? Need to order flowers, make dinner reservations or download mom’s favorite recipe? Your smartphone can help you get all of this accomplished and more.

“Moms give so much and they deserve the best, especially on Mother’s Day,” said Derek Estes, director of sales for U.S. Cellular. “Using your smartphone is a great way to get those special plans for mom done quickly and conveniently.”

U.S. Cellular offers the following tips that are sure to make mom smile:

Say it with flowers

Use your smartphone to order flowers. Choose an arrangement, pay for it and have it delivered, all from your mobile device. You can even have a receipt confirmation sent to your phone, so you’ll know when to expect an excited call from mom.

Shop til you drop

Get a great deal while shopping for mom’s gift. Mobile coupon sites like cellfire.com post discounts and coupons that can be accessed on your smartphone based on where you live and what you need.

Take mom to dinner

Want to take mom to a new restaurant that suits her taste? Visit websites like restaurants.com for a list of trendy dining spots in your area. In many cases, you can secure and confirm a reservation online. Use your smartphone’s GPS navigation to get turn-by-turn directions.

Download mom’s favorite recipe and bon appétit!

If the plan is to wow mom with your culinary skills, then download recipes for her favorite dishes using your smartphone. Websites like http://www.allrecipes.com'>allrecipes.com and http://www.foodnetwork.com'>foodnetwork.com offer easy and creative meals with step-by-step instructions.
