Mischievous Fun with Men from Australia’s Gold Coast

Australia’s Thunder from Down Under has been a hit with the ladies this summer, making it the hottest show in town. Aside from Chicago, the popular show has toured around the world, including Finland and a series of shows in Las Vegas, entertaining millions of women.

Before the show returns home to Australia, the Thunder from Down Under cast, comprised of six male entertainers and one announcer, will perform their final three shows at Joe’s Bar.

The men dressed in costumes ranging from pirates and firemen perform choreographed shows to music by Usher and the Bodyrockers. The show can be described as utilizing the elements of stripping in a tasteful and playful manner.

“Its sexy, harmless fun,” said Jesse, one of the male entertainers. “Its cheeky but it doesn’t step over the line.”

Jesse has been with the cast for almost two years. He and the show’s announcer Benny Hardy, go through boot camp training to learn the theatrical dance moves featured in the show. Hardy said the show is not what many women expect to see and suggests they come with an open mind.

Both men said they’ve seen outrageous reactions from women in the audience. Each male entertainer from the cast chooses one lady from the audience and performs exclusively for her.

The show, popular among bachelorette parties, is not sexual but good-humored, taking women who want to be entertained on a different journey.
