UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is ready for his showdown against Josh Koscheck in an anticipated rematch for the title Dec. 11 at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in UFC 124.
St-Pierre (20-2) hasn’t lost a match in three years and is ranked the number one fighter in the world. He started his winning streak against Koscheck back in 2007 when he out hustled and dominated Koscheck on the ground. “Josh is very predictable,” St-Pierre said. “Look at all the guys who I fought who were arrogant and disrespectful to me. I beat them all. It’s good for my motivation. When it’s time to fight, I will have done my homework.”
Koscheck (15-4) on the other hand, said he is a different fighter than the first time they fought. Koscheck is a four-time NCAA Division I All-American and a NCAA wrestling champion. He claimed that St-Pierre couldn’t take him down in the first fight, although St-Pierre not only took him down, but out wrestled him too.
“Since St-Pierre got knocked out by little Matt Serra, he’s become this guy who’s afraid to go out there and fight,” Koscheck said. “I know that you’re just a wrestler, and that’s all you want to do.”
Koscheck doesn’t feel pressured despite having already lost to St-Pierre and fighting in his home turf of Montreal.
“I’m here to win fights and make money,” Koscheck said. “Whether they love me or hate me, I feel like Montreal and I have a good relationship. They need a guy like me to come in there and put on a show, and I plan on doing that on
