Valentine’s Day is approaching fast, which can only mean one thing. No, reservations at a favorite restaurant and flower bouquet orders should have been made weeks ago. We’re talking about picking out a few movies to watch over the Valentine’s Day weekend. Whether you’re a hopeless romantic or a cynical heartbreaker, here is a look at a few films for everyone.
Valentine’s Day movies you both can enjoy
Contrary to popular belief, Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean always having to watch what she wants. When she reaches for a rom-com starring Kate, just say no. Eliminate movies from the queue with extremely heavy-handed emotions and cheesy relationship fluff some girls find endearing and most guys find sleep enducing. Instead, pick something you both will swoon over. It’s easy enough to choose something universally-admired like “Gone with the Wind” or “When Harry Met Sally,” so be a bit more adventurous and try something you might have missed in the last few years.
“Once” – this Oscar-winning film features two talented musicians writing and rehearsing songs and falling in love in Dublin.
“Ghost Town” – romantic comedy about a rude dentist who discovers he has the ability to see ghosts and makes a deal with one to break up his widow and her new boyfriend.
“Amélie” – cute French romance follows a young girl as she helps those around her discover love in unusual ways.
