Nuestro Queso, the freshest and most authentic cheese products available in the market, believes that higher education is the key to the advancement of the Hispanic community and it’s with this aim that it’s holding a recipe contest that will award scholarships at St. Augustine College to three of four contest winners.
Potential contestants are invited to submit a recipe that uses a Nuestro Queso product as a key ingredient to the Nuestro Queso ‘Cocina, Saborea y ¡Gana!’ (Create, Dazzle and Win!) recipe contest. The deadline to submit entries is April 15. Contest entries will be published weekly in EXTRA and finalists will have a chance to cook their dish for a panel of judges that will select four winning recipes.
“Nuestro Queso is an employee-owned and operated company that has strong ties to the vibrant Latino community and we are vested in its advancement”, said Janet Domínguez, marketing director for Nuestro Queso. “Our aim with this contest is to provide opportunities to many great cooks in our community to develop their skill, to express their culinary creativity and reward their loyalty”.
To enter and qualify, potential contestants are invited to submit a recipe through postal mail to: “Cocina, Saborea y ¡Gana! Con Nuestro Queso” 2420 Lunt Ave., Elk Grove Village, IL 60007, or electronically to cocinasaboreaygana@nuestroqueso.com. All recipes submitted must be received by April 15.
The finalists will be invited to cook their recipe for a panel of judges headed by Carlos Gaytan, executive chef and owner of Mexique, on April 21 at St. Augustine College. The top three recipes will be awarded $2,000 (first place), $1,000 (second place) and $500 (third place) toward tuition at St. Augustine College. The fourth place will receive a Nuestro Queso product basket with retail value
