Goya Foods, Inc., the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States, received special acknowledgement from Catholic Charities of Chicago on Sept. 12 for their donation of more than 10,000 pounds of food. The donation which took place on Sept. 6 at Casa Catalina (one of Catholic Charities’ major food pantries located in the Back of the Yards community) was made on behalf of the iconic Mexican artist Ana Gabriel. Ana Gabriel also received special recognition from Catholic Charities at the ceremony. The audience also viewed a special video presentation prior to the concert featuring the donation, Catholic Charities, Goya Foods and Ana Gabriel.
Goya Foods is sponsoring a nine concert series in six markets, including the historic Marco Antonio Solis and Ana Gabriel concert in Chicago, to celebrate their 75th milestone anniversary with the community by giving back to those who have supported them since 1936.
