Durango combines all that a traveler is looking for

Located in the heart of Central Mexico, 578 miles (898 kilometers) away from Mexico City, Durango is known for being a mining state, a cultural and commercial bridge.

Between the northern and central regions of Mexico, however, it is much more than that. It is a complete travel destination that offers beautiful landscapes, streets and corridors where part of the history of Mexico took place, as well as ideal locations to practice extreme sports. You can especially enjoy Durango’s cultural heritage. Additionally, Durango offers adrenaline- boosting experiences for those who enjoy adventure. Its mountain range is ideal for sports such as mountain biking, rappelling and free climbing.

Due to the beautiful landscapes of its deserts and woods, Durango is also considered “a movie star.” The state has been the setting for hundreds of big-budget movies, especially westerns, because its sites are very similar to those of the American Wild West.
