Alarming Robbery In Las Vegas

Holy Cow! Was there a bank robbery in Las Vegas? Did a casino get robbed? Well, yes and no. There was no money stolen but the incredulous thievery happened at the MGM Grand Casino where I think it was done by the Las Vegas Mafia. They robbed Juan Manuel Marquez of a victory in the fight against Filipino Many Pacquiao.

The fight was very good. The two warriors were beating the snot out of each other and at the end of the fight, those of us that were watching it were sure that the Mexican had won and they were going to raise his hand and announce him as the new heavy weight champion.

But the huge disappointment came, not just for me but for millions of aficionados all over the world, when the referee announced that two of the three judges gave the victory to the Filipino.

Marquez could not believe it and neither could his manager Ignacio Beristain. Later in the conference Marquez spoke against the judges of Nevada calling them inept and bought-off for not giving him the victory.

“I am ashamed for my fans and followers because I put my whole heart into this fight,” said Marquez. “I prepared myself very well and you are witnesses who gave me reasons as to why I was the punisher; that I gave the hardest hits, yet to the two judges I am the loser.”

It’s logical that only with a dead Pacquiao the damn judges would have given the victory to the Mexican. Two days later, boxing professionals, judges and trainers got together and saw the fight in separate rooms so there wouldn’t be any confusion.
