Where can I find a food bank or soup kitchen?

Hunger still permeates many areas and communities in the Chicagoland area, and there are places where needy families can get a bite to eat. If you are in need or if you would like to volunteer your time to help one of these organizations, you can check out one of the three locations below.

NORTH

A Just Harvest’s mission is to reduce poverty and hunger in Rogers Park and the greater Chicago community by providing nutritious meals daily while building a just society through advocacy and collaborative relationships across racial, cultural and socio-economic lines to promote the well-being of patrons served.

SOUTH

The volunteers, donors and staff of Franciscan Outreach Association serve the needs of the poor. At the Marquard Center, they serve a nutritious meal to an average of 86 men, women, and children every night of the year. Meals consist of a main dish, one or two side dishes, milk, coffee, bread and a dessert if one has been donated.

The Local 150 Food Bank works to eliminate hunger and its causes for its members and the public because no one should have the face the day hungry. Additionally, the Local 150 Food Bank acts as a repository of information regarding various health and human services.
