Do you think you have what it takes to be a part of the seventh season of the MTV hit reality series “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew?” On Jan. 13, casting directors will be in Chicago in search of the hottest hip-hop dance groups who have what it takes to win this season’s coveted title and a $100,000 cash prize.

During an interview last week, EXTRA spoke to “America’s Best Dance Crew” casting director Michelle McNulty about what kind of talent the reality show is looking for and what she thinks about dancers in the Chicago area.

EXTRA: Why did you choose Chicago as a city to hold auditions for “America’s Best Dance Crew” for this upcoming season?

Michelle McNulty: We love Chicago! It’s such a great place and it’s central for so many people in the Midwest. We always get great talent from Chicago like the dance crew the FootworKINGz who were on the show last season. We always find great talent there whether they are from Chicago or coming to audition there from surrounding areas. It’s a great location.

What kind of dance crews are you looking for?

We are looking for those dynamic and exciting crews to light up that stage. We are always looking for fresh stuff – different dance styles you never see. We are always on the hunt for those innovative crews.

How do you stay fresh and different when there are so many other reality TV talent shows focused on dancing? What makes your show stand out?
