Bobby Flay. Rachel Ray. Gordon Ramsay. There might be a host of celebrity chefs when you turn on your TV these days, but no one does things in the kitchen with as much passion as Chef Ingrid Hoffmann. With her new lifestyle cooking show “Delicioso with Ingrid Hoffmann” debuting last weekend on Univision, Hoffmann is ready to show viewers how to cook healthy, fast and with a lot of Latin style.
During an exclusive interview with EXTRA, Hoffmann, who is of Colombian descent, talked about how her show will be different compared to other cooking shows already on TV and what she makes when she’s feeling a little to lazy to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.
“Delicioso with Ingrid Hoffmann” airs every Saturday at 12 p.m. on Univision.
How is “Delicioso with Ingrid Hoffmann” different from other cooking shows currently on TV?
The show is all about food-related stories from all around the world. All the stories have something to do with Hispanic interests. One of the very interesting aspects of the show is that it’s interactive. During every commercial break we invite viewers to go online and communicate with me and ask questions regarding recipes or cooking. It adds value for the viewer because their getting a lot more information.
Other than cooking advice from you, what other kind of information can they get?
Well, if you click on one of the ingredients in an online recipe, you can read the history of that ingredient. You can also find out the different names of that ingredient all through Latin America. For us in America, we don’t really think about that. We call a peach a peach. But with a lot of ingredients, each Latin country calls it by a different name.
