As Families Get Complicated, So Does the Holiday

Sound familiar? Starting to remember why you hate this time of year? Still, if you at least have your health to be thankful for, remember that there are thousands of homeless and hungry with no family and no home to go to. Many of us have more to be thankful for than others, and while it certainly seems unfair that I can sit here and complain about not knowing what to serve for Thanksgiving dinner, there are poor and homeless out there who do not know where or when their next meal will come from. So this holiday season, when you start to feel cranky and moody, instead of concentrating on what you are resentful for, try to actually focus on what you do have to be thankful for – even if it’s just the ability to remember.
